Benefits of Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo biloba leaves have various health benefits, namely the blood flow, oxygen and nutrients into the blood vessels of the brain, eyes, ears and other body parts. The leaves contain flavonoids, terpenoids, antioxidants, vitamin C and carotene. Flavonoids act as antioxidants which neutralize free radicals that can cause damage to body tissue, causing cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer's and memory loss. Terpenoids act as anti against platelet activating factor (PAF) which serves to prevent blood coagulation. PAF has a big share in the process of blood vessel blockages that cause heart attacks, strokes, asthma, and the rejection of transplanted organs. The combination of flavonoids and terpenoids which is a combination of antioxidants and antiPAF function as a blood diluent and opening blood vessels, particularly blood circulation to the brain, will provide extra nutrients that are beneficial in improving memory, concentration, eyesight and hearing.
